1. Spelling and grammar errors

There is no excuse for typos, incorrect word usage and/or other grammatical mistakes. It comes across as unprofessional (and even uneducated). Pay a little extra attention to spelling and grammar before submitting your resume. Spell-check with a word processing program, or have your resume checked for errors by a family member, friend.

2. Clichés and overused words

10. Fear of showing your personality
