Child Benefit in the Netherlands

You are getting child benefit (kinderbijslag) in the Netherlands for your children who are younger that 18 years old.

The amount of child benefit depends on the age of your child. There are three categories in the child benefit. The older is your child, the more benefit you are getting. The child benefit is paid you four times a year. In each quarter: January, April, July and October.

The categories are as follows for the year 2019 (per child):
0 to 5 years old: €219.97
6 to 11 years old: €267.10
12 to 17 years old: €314.24

You have to register your child(ren) to the website www.svb.nl for the child benefit. (Sociale Verzekeringsbank) You need to have a DigiD to be able to login to this website.

You have to have a valid residence permit to be able to get child benefit. There are some exceptions and other rules for it. For further information, you can visit also the following site.
